This study aims to shed light on the specific mechanisms at work in the transition to adulthood for this clinical population and the way in which the mediation framework, facilitated by the Dixit board game, can initiate a resilient dynamic. The qualitative analysis of the data, centered on a psychodynamic frame of reference, is presented in the form of two case studies (Oph\u00e9lie, aged eighteen, and Bryan, aged twenty-three). The trauma of abuse and its effects on psychic functioning can considerably hinder the process of becoming an adult on several counts. Methods: Forty protocols of subjects aged eighteen to thirty-five, twenty French and twenty Lebanese, matched for age and socioeconomic status and diagnosed with BPD according to DSM-V criteria, were analyzed for the purpose of this study. Data processing was based on qualitative content analysis of the narratives collected and quantitative analysis including descriptive and comparative statistics. The results show similarities between the two populations in the perception and recognition of the latent content of the cards, emotional expression, and the use of avoidance, projection, and denial defense mechanisms.
