The editorial independence of the bulletin de psychologie and its spirit of openness encourage the publication of papers that align with the latest research trends, as well as innovative papers that do not fit into these approaches.                                             

An editorial board, a reading committee, and peer reviewers 

Like all academic journals, the bulletin de psychologie submits manuscripts for peer review by two leading researchers or practitioners in their domain. This procedure allows us to maintain a high level of scientific quality and to offer authors an opportunity to receive feedback.                
       

A wide international readership

Libraries, research units, and establishments employing psychologists in more than forty countries on five continents ensure the longevity and wide distribution of the bulletin de psychologie.
 

Journal policy

The bulletin de psychologie is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that is read around the world. It is aimed primarily at professionals, researchers, and practitioners from various specialties of psychology, and it publishes four issues per year. Its issues comprise scientific articles, thesis summaries, and book reviews, among other things, and they cover all areas of psychology. The bulletin de psychologie is published by the Groupe d’études de psychologie, a non-profit organization based at the Sorbonne since 1947. The bulletin is independent of any commercial publisher; it is its own publisher.

Aims and scope 

The bulletin de psychologie encourages the publication of French-language works that are in line with the latest research trends, as well as innovative works situated outside of these movements. The bulletin does not specialize in any particular strand of research; therefore, in addition to the qualities required of any scientific article, texts published in the bulletin must also be comprehensible to all specialists in psychology, no matter their theoretical or methodological orientation. We prioritize texts that are rooted in an identified current of psychology and are in line with current research trends. 
               

Resources 

The main resources of the bulletin come from yearly subscriptions, revenue from packages offered by Cairn, the sale of individual issues, and royalties from the Centre français d’exploitation du droit de copie CFC . It uses a subscriber-pays business model, which is predominant in the industry. Publication is free of charge for authors (the checking of English translations of titles and abstracts is handled by the bulletin, as is the translation of certain full-length articles). Since 2014, the bulletin is able to receive donations as a general interest organization of a scientific, social, and cultural nature, as it contributes to the dissemination of culture, language, and scientific knowledge in the French language. The donations received by the bulletin enable it to offer free subscriptions to libraries or documentation centers that do not have the means to take out a print or digital subscription.        
                                                              

Review procedure 

Every proposed article undergoes an initial assessment by the members of the editorial board. The text is either rejected (20% are rejected because they do not correspond to the editorial line: either because they are too specialized, exist outside of an identifiable field of psychology, or do not meet the standards of a scientific article) or placed in the hands of a member of the editorial board who specializes in the field concerned. They will then assess the article and either reject it for publication or send it to at least two external experts. Peer review is conducted on a double-blind basis. The acceptance rate since 2015 is 44%.                     

Consultation and archiving 

Since 2005, articles published in the bulletin de psychologie are available online on Cairn ans Cairn international (paid access for articles published in the last five years) and on Persée (free access, for all issues from 1948 to 2004).

Ethics 

The bulletin de psychologie follows the code of ethics prescribed by Cairn (code-of-ethics).
